Ancient Veil

Dopo aver fondato gli Eris Pluvia nel 1985 e averli lasciati nel 1992 dopo la pubblicazione dell’album “Rings of earthly light”, Alessandro Serri e Edmondo Romano, insieme a Fabio Serri, nel 1992 creano il progetto Ancient Veil.

I due (tre) proseguono sulla scia del sound particolare del precedente progetto e, in collaborazione con un nutrito numero di musicisti, pubblicano nel 1995 The Ancient Veil.

Negli anni a seguire il progetto è messo in stand by sino al 2014, anno in cui Alessandro Serri e Edmondo Romano iniziano al lavorare sul materiale composto negli ultimi vent’anni dallo stesso Serri. Il risultato è I am changing, album che esce per Lizard Records il 16 gennaio 2017. Anche in questo caso troviamo un gran numero di musicisti-collaboratori.

Nel lasso di tempo che separa i due album gli Ancient Veil hanno partecipato ad una serie di tribute album: A tribute to Genesis “The river of constant change” (1995), A tribute to Italian Progressive Rock of the seventies “Zarathustra’s revenge” (1997), A tribute to Genesis solo career – Peter Gabriel – Family snapshot (2013, vi ha preso parte il solo Alessandro Serri), Phillips, Banks, Collins, Rutherford – Wilson Tribute “In the land of geese, ghost and confusion (2014). Nel 2014 Alessandro Serri e Edmondo Romano hanno collaborato con i Narrow Pass nell’album “A new day”.

Il 23 febbraio 2018 la band pubblica New – The Ancient Veil remastered ristampa del primo album in una nuova versione: nuovo mix, nuovi suoni, nuovo mastering, nuova playlist, nuova grafica.

Anno prolifico il 2018. Il 9 maggio gli Ancient Veil rilasciano Rings of earthly… Live, lavoro che ripercorre i trent’anni di carriera della formazione, proponendo dal vivo, e con una nuova band che vede anche Massimo Palermo (basso) e Marco Fuliano (batteria), alcuni brani tratti da The Ancient Veil, Rings of earthly light e I am changing.

Il 15 aprile 2019 nuova uscita, questa volta firmata Eris Pluvia & Ancient Veil: 1991/1995 Rings of earthly light and other songs, un’opera che contiene la prima ristampa ufficiale di “Rings of earthly light” degli Eris Pluvia e brani inediti e storici degli Ancient Veil realizzati in quel periodo.

L’8 ottobre 2020 la band torna con Unplugged Live, lavoro che contiene undici brani eseguiti dal vivo, in acustico, in tre concerti differenti.
